MISCOMMUNICATION2Miscommunication can be very difficult to deal with at times if you don’t know the main steps to enable yourself to communicate well. There are many new ways to communicate with each other, such as the internet or instant messaging. Most people struggle with the most important type of communication and that is interpersonal communication. “Interpersonal communication is a lifelong study that requires ongoing practice for everyone” (Bevan & Sole, 2014, Sect. 1.4).The first basic principle of interpersonal communication that I am going to explain is to listen and evaluate the other person’s statements before responding. In my opinion, this principal is self-explanatory but it can be hard to do if you’re not used to it. It’s important to realize that in order to respond appropriately, you must first let the other person talk, let what they say process in your brain, and lastly, think of the best way to communicate back. The first preventable cause of death and disease in the United States is smoking. Adults are being recommended to participate in 150 minutes of moderate physical activity or 60 minutesof vigorous activity. Carol Ewing states that having a regular exercise program is imperative for most adults, this excludes daily activities of living. (ACSM, 2011)There are many benefits to participating in an exercise program on a daily basis. These include an enhanced condition of the heart and lungs, increased energy levels, and improved sleep. These are just a few of the many benefits a person has when leading an active lifestyle. An important benefit of engaging in an exercise program is having an improved social life. There areso many group activities that allow individuals to become active while also socializing with others who have similar interests. Increased physical confidence is also a benefit of becoming active. Improving your health and getting in shape often help boost self-confidence while also improving overall happiness.
